Commercial Director
The Role
Our client is a magazine publisher and event organiser.
Their aim is to help ambitious founders, CEOs and their companies scale-up their businesses and grow from medium-sized businesses (of which there are 110,000 in the UK) to large companies (of which there are only 7,500). Medium-sized businesses can become a significant growth engine in the UK that create more jobs, boost the economic prospects of individuals and regions, and improve society.
What sets us apart is our focus on serving the UK mid-sized market across all sectors. Our founder is widely recognized as one of the top entrepreneurs in the UK. He has personally experienced the trials and triumphs of growing a business, having taken his own venture from £50,000 of initial capital to a sale in 2023 for £4.1 billion. There are eight things he knows now which he wishes someone had told him in the early days of HomeServe. If they had, he would have taken his growth to 8.4million members, 9,000 employees, and operating in 10 countries in half the time!
Our offering can enable businesses to move faster, make better decisions, and ultimately grow even more successfully. We deliver business content, best practices (and looking for next practices), ideas, tools, mentoring, business support including funding opportunities and recruitment services, speaker resources, and crucially connections to senior executives. We do this through our publications (digital and print magazines, newsletters, and podcasts), events, and our newly formed business leadership community.
